    Geological Modelling

Three-dimensional subsurface models have been increasingly used during recent years in exploration activities. They facilitate measured geophysical data to be tied to geological information from boreholes, mines and surface exposures allowing the data to be displayed, analysed and interpreted in its spatial context.

Compared to traditional mapping methods, geological modelling leads to a considerably more accurate description of the subsurface conditions. Structural models show in a consistent way the relationships between layer formations and tectonic elements and can as such provide a means of optimising the planning of borehole locations. Block models that reveal the spatial distribution of pertinent deposit characteristics, such as temperature, rock qualities or oil and gas content, can be referred to for making decisions on feasibility as well as for deriving development strategies.

We possess in-depth expertise that has already been successfully applied in numerous exploration projects in connection for example with geothermal energy, coal, ores as well as conventional and unconventional hydrocarbons. We make use of the software platforms Petrel® and Surpac®
