Seismic exploration of the subsurface as well as seismo-acoustic surveillance for monitoring and optimising hydraulic stimulations reduce the risk by a worthwhile amount in the exploration and operation phases of geothermal projects.

In the area of deep geothermal exploration, DMT offers 2D/3D exploration seismic from the planning stage via data acquisition and the data processing, up to the geological interpretation and 3D modelling, including hydrological simulations. By applying the very latest equipment and recognised, up-to-date software it has been shown, for instance during geothermal projects in Greater Munich, in Speyer, Unterhaching and Unterföhring, how important it is to have an accurate knowledge of the subsurface in order to properly plan where to drill boreholes.
