Down-Hole Radar

DMT offers extensive down-hole radar services (GPR, EMR). They augment in ideal fashion not only various types of georadar services, working from the surface, but also the Logging applications.

The down-hole service can be used at depths of up to 2,000 meters and is based on a down-hole radar system that takes account of the direction from which reflections are returned. This makes it possible to determine exactly the locations of the reflecting objects – using measurements made from just a single hole. The range of this direction-sensitive down-hole radar system in salt deposits, for instance, can be as much as 700 meters.

The radar measurement data provide critical information needed to develop the 3-D geological models that describe the formations or deposits. They also serve to verify the findings in advance exploration.
