In mining and geosciences the term exploration covers all the activities associated with the search for and examination of mineral deposits. Along with exploration seismics, DMT employs many other methods to acquire quantitative information on resource deposits.
Using gravimetry – either at the surface or from the air, magnetometry, electromagnetics, geoelectric fields and ground-penetrating radar makes it possible, especially by combining several different techniques, to arrive at detailed assessments of deposits based on geological expertise. And this is true for all natural resources. Indeed, our data acquisition, interpretation and modelling form the basis for further planning and the next phases of exploitation for oil, gas, coal, potash, ores, stone and earth as well as geothermal energy, and even the most important resource of all, water.
