Calculation of Reserves and Deposit Evaluation
The volume of the mineral deposits is determined on the basis of the 3-D models. These volumes are then classified according to geological, qualitative and preliminary profitability criteria.
During the classification procedure it is particularly important to know that the geological conclusions are absolutely reliable. Based on economic analyses, market research and opportunity studies, DMT prepares assessments of the deposits. Our customers include mining companies, suppliers to the mining industry, international development banks, government geological services, and so on.

It is extremely important for our customers that the economic assessment of a deposit be based on criteria acceptable to investors and banks. Far-reaching knowledge in questions of economic geology is therefore essential. And DMT’s experience in this field is widely recognised. For instance, when the United Nations introduced an international standard for classifying and calculating resources and reserves, a DMT geologist was appointed to represent the industry on the technical committee.
