BoxModel Concept: ReacFlow3D
The BoxModel Concept: ReacFlow3D in a 3D finite volume program for modelling ground and mine water flow, heat transport and multi-component mass transport with sorption, microbial degradation and reactions with minerals. A special feature is the great discretisation flexibility to model geological structures like layers and faults as well as mining structural elements and mine excavations.
Water management in active mines:
- Considering pump performance curves
- Influence of pipes, etc.
- Break through scenarios between active and abandoned parts
Discretisation – BoxModel Concept:
- Extreme flexible discretisation
- Different numbers and structures of cells (boxes) per slice
- Numerous numbers and types of connections between cells (boxes)
- Compatible to all FE/FD models
- Turbulent flow in pipes, drifts and shafts
- Reduction of cell numbers using the Analytical Element Method (AEM)
Multi-component transport:
- 57 pre-installed transport units (MKW, PAH, VOC, SO4, CO3, Fe, pH-, Eh-calculation)
- Organics and inorganics
- Pitzer coefficients
- Surface complexation
- Ion exchange
