Foundation Engineering
The methods and techniques used in foundation engineering are diverse and demand in-depth knowledge of subsoil characteristics and behaviour. Our specialists help during the planning, tendering, dimensioning and construction supervision stages. They also handle quality assurance for engineering projects requiring special foundations. Our capacities include preserving historic structures, injection and underpinning, and remediation of damage caused by mining activities. We can also sink deep foundations and stabilise the subsoil using techniques optimised for each application. Construction pit stabilisation concepts make use of optimised, state-of-the-art anchoring systems. We can monitor stability during the construction phase. Our expertise also encompasses special techniques such as ground freezing and monitoring the freezing process.
In cases where predicting the behaviour of the construction subsoil cannot be made with sufficient reliability using standard tests and analyses, we implement the new monitoring methods described in DIN 1054. In this context our foundation engineering team provides advice on instrumentation, how to implement the methods, the measurement programme and retroactive analysis. We would be happy to provide you with ideas for the development of new techniques or further development of existing methods, as required.
Should unexpected influences in the subsoil be encountered, then we are at your service as technical consultants and qualified experts.
Our services:
- Planning, structural analysis and tendering of foundation engineering work (injection and soilcrete techniques, sealing walls, diaphragm walls, pilings, retaining walls, anchor work, construction methods using geoplastics)
- Site management with project steering and cost monitoring, quality assurance
- Monitoring by way of instrumentation
- New development and further refinement of engineering methods for special-design foundations
