Utilisation of methane is a business that is growing all around the world. This is due in no small part to the options provided in the Kyoto Protocol and by voluntary carbon offset activities.

Gas utilisation has been practised at active mines in Germany for many decades. The enactment of the Renewable Energy Regulations (EEG) created a new basis enabling mine gas to be economically utilised as an independent natural resource. Many gas utilisation plants have since been set up, utilising methane from both abandoned mining fields and producing mines.

Based on our experience with gas utilisation in both situations we can offer a range of services for gas recovery and use. These services cover the entire utilisation process from both the technical and economic points of view. This helps to limit the operator’s risk exposure in the projects. DMT offers
